Lorina Everett Skiver
APRIL 22, 1953 ~ MAY 9, 2019
Mrs. Lorina Everett Skiver age, 66 of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center after a courageous battle against breast cancer. Lorina was born in Maine on April 22, 1953 to the late Mr. Morgan Douglas and Shirley Mary (Rossignol) Everett. Lorina had a nurturing heart and was blessed with a husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to care for. She loved to have her whole family on her porch enjoying a meal, reminiscing, laughing and loving each other. Beyond her own family she was well known for rescuing anything that needed rescued; human or not if someone or something needed taken care of she would bring it home and nurture it back to health. It was a rare occasion to see her without a baby on her hip, or her hands at work preparing a meal. When she did have a free day she and her husband Marty or as she always called him “Charlie” would escape to the North Georgia Mountains on their Harley’s. Marty and Lorina were private people and wished not for a large service. Together they decided their children would complete their wishes as a family when her day came. Lorina has joined her husband Martin Eugene Skiver; a sister Peggy Sue Everett and a son-in-law Danny Evans in Heaven. She leaves behind her children; daughter Lynn Evans of Cleveland, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Jason Truelove of Gainesville, Georgia; daughter, Michelle Funderburk of Dahlonega, Georgia; son Steven Skiver of Jasper, Georgia; brothers Douglas Everett and Roger Everett along with 21 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family. Beverly Brimer Bolsius: Obituary
Obituaries October 29, 2019Mrs. Beverly Brimer Bolsius, age 86 of Hiawassee, passed away after a struggling hospice in her mountain home Saturday, October 26, 2019.
Beverly was born in Atlanta, Georgia on September 10, 1933 to the late Aubrey & Margaret Brimer. The loss of her younger sister at the age of 10 made a big impact on her perspective of life. It was from that moment that she became intentional with her life. Her high school years were full of accomplishment some of which include serving as class officer and majorette of the band. It was also here that she met her future husband, Gene Bolsius. After high school, she attended business school and worked for the State of Georgia Health Department. Later, she reconnected with Gene and they began a solid marriage and life of adventure!
It is said behind every great man is a great woman. She was the epitome of that idiom. Bev had a certain charisma about her. When she entered the room her presence was instantly known- she was the life of the party. Her hilarious sense of humor and style allowed her to quickly form genuine connections with people. Through Gene’s career, they were able to live all over the world from Tokyo to Hong Kong and Buenos Aires. These locations served as jumping off points for the rest of their globe-trotting adventures as they enjoyed a full retirement traveling the world. Bev was extremely organized and patriotic. She even coupled these attributes volunteering to host and entertain troops overseas.
She will be warmly remembered by all who knew her, but especially missed by her family: loving husband of 67 years, Eugene Herbert Bolsius; daughter, Mona Carolyn Clayton; son & daughter-in-law, Mark Stephen & Anne Bolsius; and daughter, Melissa Anne Caldwell. Also, sharing in her legacy are 8 grandchildren, Christie Clayton, Colin Clayton (Gina), Michael Bolsius, Shelly Bolsius, Maggie Bolsius, Nick Caldwell, Jack Caldwell, and Olivia Caldwell. Bev was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Carolyn Brimer.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday, October 31, 2019 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home with Chaplain Greg Bailey officiating. The family will gather together with friends prior to the service beginning at noon.
Arrangements entrusted to Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee.
