UPDATED: Shooting confirmed in Young Harris

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – FYN has confirmed a shooting in the vicinity of Chicken Pit Road in Young Harris during the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday, Dec. 3.
Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene of a gunshot wound at approximately 5:30 a.m.
FYN will provide additional information as it becomes available.
UPDATE: Towns County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that a female victim was transported from the scene with a non-life threatening wound for medical treatment. According to law enforcement, there is “one known victim” at this time. As of 7:30 am, no suspects were reported as taken into custody. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) has been summoned to assist in an investigation.

Is this close to YHC? So they think it is a random shooting?
The incident did not occur near Young Harris College. There is no known threat to the public’s safety.

If it was a random shooting and no suspects are in custody, how is there no danger to the public? That means they are still out there!
