Mrs. Jimmie Nell Brown: Obituary

Mrs. Jimmie Nell Brown, age 78, of Hiawassee, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017, after an extended illness.

Her passion was traveling across the United States and Canada with her husband of 58 years. Her craft was crocheting – of which she gave items away freely all across the United States and Canada.

Mrs. Brown is survived by her husband Clyde Brown of Hiawassee; brother-in-law, Carlous Brown of Gadsden, Alabama; niece, Michelle Volk (Johnny) of Lithia Springs, Georgia; great nephew, Chase Ditchkoff; niece, Vicki Thompson (Guy), of Oklahoma; great niece, Laura Thompson; great great nephew, P.J. McDonald of Oklahoma; cousin, Kathy Marrow of Duluth, Georgia; sister-in-law, Brenda Brown (Sonny Haywood); many other grand nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Mrs. Brown had been preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Gladys Howell Andrews; a sister, Bernice Brogdon; and a brother, Tommy Andrews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, July 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of the Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee with Rev. Billy Nicholson officiating. Interment will follow in Laurel Hills Memory Gardens Cemetery. The following gentlemen have been selected to serve as pallbearers: Carl VanNus, Dave Clark, Sonny Haywood, Michael Ormsby, Brandon Clark, and Matthew Clark. The following gentlemen are asked to serve as honorary escort to the family: Henry Chambers, Burt Weerts, Warren VanNus, Marshall VanNus, and Andrew VanNus. The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Monday, July 10, 2017, 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., before the funeral services.
