Mrs. Joan Gale Shuffler age 63 of Charlie Corn Rd. Young Harris passed away on Sunday January 29, 2017 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Shuffler was born on Oct.28, 1953 in Murphy, NC., the daughter of the late Fred Derreberry and the late Ora Lee Lewis Derreberry. Joan loved drawing and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loving mother, sister and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Shuffler. Joan was of the Christian faith.

Surviving Mrs. Shuffler one daughter and son in law, Lisa and David Elliott of Young Harris, one son, Derrick Hamby of Blairsville, one sister, Cynthia Dockery of Marble, NC., one brother, Michael Derreberry of Murphy, six grandchildren, David, Jessica, Stephen and Jaden Elliott, Aiden Lopez and Reanna Hamby, six great grandchildren, Alayah Folston, Eveny Elliott, Aiden, Braxton, Deklin and Channing Jones, many other relatives and friends also survive.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to help defray expenses in Mrs. Shuffler’s memory.
