Mrs. Sandra Faye Roberts age 67 of  Young Harris passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday September 4, 2016 in the Union General Hospital following a long battle with cancer. Sandy was born on August 27, 1949 in Murphy, NC., the daughter of the late William Fred Davis and the late Maymie Faye Penland Davis. She was a lifelong resident of Towns County. Sandy was an avid hunter and loved going to their hunting camp with her husband Terry. She also loved camping and racing. She loved her pets, Buddy, Petie and Fanci. Sandy was a loving and caring wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. Sandy was a member of Old Brasstown Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Roberts are her loving husband, best friend and hunting companion of forty years, Terry Roberts of Young Harris, two sons and daughters in law, Glen and Michelle Barnard, Craig and Dara Roberts all of young Harris, daughter and son in law, Shawna and Danny Terry of Cleveland, GA., four brothers and sisters in law, Roger and Carolyn Davis of Dayton, VA., Worth and Shirl Davis of Pittsburg, PA., Wilfred and Brenda Davis of Stockbridge, GA., Rex and Janet Davis of Hoschton, GA., three sisters and brothers in law, Joann and Bobby Drake, Betty and Wayne Rogers all of Gainesville, Kathy and Billy Denton of Hiawassee, four grandchildren, Natalie Barnard, Whitney Barnard, Alexis Wagoner, DeLaney Terry, four great grandchildren,. Porter, Ryder and Scout Manning and Kerrigan Wagoner, her favorite dog, Buddy, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday September 6, 2016 at 2:00 pm from the Old Brasstown Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Stiles officiating. Special music will be presented by Meschell Rigsby. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Marty Roberts, Eric Dills, Jacky Jones, Mike Patton, Bryan Rogers and Ralph (Bogg) Barnard. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Derrick Moody and Chris King. Interment will follow in the Old Brasstown Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Old Brasstown Baptist Church in Sandy’s memory. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6-9:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
