Suedean Kitchens Ledford, 98, of Hayesville died Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at her residence. She was a native of Towns County, Georgia, but lived in Clay County all her life. She was a retired textile worker. She was a member of Chatuge Hills Assembly of God Church. Suedean enjoyed gardening and working in her flowers.

She was the daughter of the late Holt Edward and Mary Elizabeth McClure Kitchens and the wife of the late Hayes Ledford, who died November 14, 2006. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Norma Jean Brown; a son, Charles Ledford; three grandchildren, Stacy Brian Stillwell, Deborah Denise Ledford, and Kim Matheson; a great grandson, Brent Ledford; a sister, Muriel Stroud; and a brother, Donald Kitchens.

Surviving are five daughters, Joan Lanning of Stockbridge, Georgia, Patricia Kirby of Hiawassee, Georgia, Sharon Stillwell of Hayesville, Janice Anderson of Warne, and Vivian Dyer of Acworth, Georgia; two sons, Wallace Ledford of Lincolnton, North Carolina, and Quentin Ledford of Hayesville; a sister, Odean Smart of Hayesville; 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and five great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 2, 2016 in the Chatuge Hills Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Aline Mosteller officiating. The interment will be in Union Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dean Brown, Steven Kirby, Kenny Smart, and Dustin, Dalton, and Scotty Bradley.  Honorary pallbearers will be Russell Martin and Stanley Ledford.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 Friday evening at the Ivie Funeral Home, Hayesville where the body will be until placed in the church at the service hour.
