Mrs. Effie Charlotte Cohran age 71 of Luthersville, GA. formerly of Young Harris passed away peacefully on Monday Dec. 12, 2016 in Fayettville, GA following an extended illness. Mrs. Cohran was born on Jan. 6, 1945 in Blairsville, GA., the daughter of the late Robert Stephens and the late Violet Chastain Stephens. Effie loved children and loved her family. She had the biggest heart of anyone that you would ever meet. She was a fine Christian lady who loved her Lord. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hoyt Duncan Cohran Jr. in 2015, three sisters, Imogene McCray, Ella Faye Wellen and Doris Reynolds and two brothers, Luther and Kenneth Stephens. Mrs. Cohran was a member of Many Forks Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Cohran are two sons and one daughter in law, Troy and Cindy Cohran of Luthersville, GA., Charles Cohran of Roechester, MN., one sister and brother in law, Louise and Jack Reid of Young Harris, niece, Noria and James Speissegger of Moreland, GA., great nieces, Johna Mays of Young Harris, Jeanny Lowe of Newnan, six grandchildren, Nicholas, Samantha, Jessica and Audrey Cohran, Leslie and Oscar Smith III, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday Dec. 15, 2016 at 11:00 am from the Mountain View Chapel with Minister Greg Huskins officiating. Special music will be presented by Audrey Cohran. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Chris Lowe, James Rutherford and Michael Pritt. Interment will follow in the Many Forks Baptist Church. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6-9:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
