Towns County Sheriff’s Office Receives $22,000 in Donated Equipment from Richmond County

HIAWASSEE, Ga. — The Towns County Sheriff’s Office has received approximately $22,000 worth of surplus law enforcement equipment from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, providing additional resources aimed at enhancing officer safety and operational readiness.

According to the Towns County Sheriff’s Office, the donated equipment includes a variety of law enforcement resources that will be used to supplement existing equipment and support the agency’s mission of protecting residents and visitors throughout the county.

Sheriff Anthony Coleman expressed gratitude to Richmond County Sheriff Eugene Brantley and Lt. James Kelly for facilitating the donation, describing it as an example of the strong partnerships that exist among law enforcement agencies across Georgia.

“The Towns County Sheriff’s Office is deeply grateful to Sheriff Eugene Brantley and Lieutenant James Kelly for their willingness to provide this equipment for the benefit of our deputies and our community,” Coleman said. “Their support reflects the brotherhood that exists among law enforcement agencies and helps ensure that our deputies have the tools necessary to safely protect the citizens of Towns County.”

Coleman also recognized Investigator Bradley Exum of the Towns County Sheriff’s Office for coordinating the acquisition and transportation of the equipment.

“Investigator Bradley Exum devoted a tremendous amount of time and effort to making this project possible,” Coleman said. “His hard work and dedication ensured that these resources were secured and delivered for the continued protection of our deputies and the people we proudly serve.”

Officials said the donation highlights the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies and reinforces a shared commitment to public safety throughout the state.

The equipment is expected to be put into service immediately, providing additional support for deputies and enhancing the department’s ability to serve the community.
