PRESS RELEASE – On Saturday night, June 22, 2025, the Towns County Sheriff Investigators received reliable information in regards to drug activity at the Texico in the city of Hiawassee.

Investigators set up a surveillance and made contact with two suspects.

Probable cause was developed and a search conducted.

During the search a variety of controlled substance was confiscated.

During the arrest of Nicolle Michelle Arlotta, 40, of Warne NC, an amount of meth was found on her person.

Arlotta was charged with:
• Felony, Possession of Methamphetamine
• Felony, Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance
• Felony, Crossing State/County Guard Lines with Weapons, Intoxicants, Drugs without Consent
• Misdemeanor, Possession and Use of Drug Related Objects

Brian William Whitney, 44, of Hiawassee, was arrested and charged with Felony Possession of a schedule III Controlled Substance.
