New Boardwalk Makes Hiawassee Totally Walkable City

TOWNS COUNTY, Ga.- The City Of Hiawassee just received a grant to install a new boardwalk, with this the city will now be a totally walkable city.

The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) awarded the city a $690,000 grant to install a new boardwalk. The boardwalk will be from Lloyds Landing (Kayak Ramp) to Mayors’ Park (Boat Ramp).

This boardwalk was made possible through the cleanup effort around Lloyds Landing. The addition of the picnic tables has already made the area more enjoyable for visitors. The City hopes to have the project completed by 2023.
