Towns County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate drug activity

On September 28, 2022, a search of a residence in the county resulted in the arrest of Joseph Lee English, age 59, of Hiawassee. Investigators confiscated a substance that field tested as Methamphetamine laced with Fentanyl. English was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Related Objects.
A separate drug investigation and search of a residence led to the arrest of Tonya Fay Ensley, age 45, of Kennesaw, GA. During the search a substance that field tested as Methamphetamine. Ensley was arrested and charged with Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Related Objects.
Sheriff Ken Henderson is pleased with the Towns County Sheriff’s Office deputies ongoing efforts and commitment to keep dangerous drugs out of our community and out of the hands of our young citizens.
All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law
