YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. – On Thursday, Nov. 1, at approximately 6:00 pm, a deputy with the Towns County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Byers Creek Road upon referral from Young Harris Police Department. Towns County Sheriff’s Office was notified that a male subject had piled wood next to the roadway, beside a gas can, and believed that the situation warranted attention.
While the specific details leading to the subject’s arrest are unclear, a witness relays that the male in question wielded what appeared to be a pitchfork while throwing rocks at a law enforcement officer. The male subject was subsequently tasered by a deputy several times in order to take the suspect into custody.
Teddie Francis Holbrooks Jr., 41, was arrested and charged with two felony counts of aggravated assault and felony obstruction of an officer.
Holbrooks is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
