HIAWASSEE, Ga. – Shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 19, Towns County Sheriff Office deputies and emergency medical crews responded to a report of a domestic violence incident, with gunshots fired, in the vicinity of Upper Hightower Road, east of Hiawassee.
FYN is closely following developments and will provide an update as soon as information becomes available.
UPDATE – 4:05 p.m. – FYN has since learned that the emergency call to 911 dispatch was delivered via third-party, causing a delay in locating the scene of the alleged disturbance.
UPDATE – 4:40 p.m. – First responders are back in service. It is unknown at this time whether the domestic violence and gun shot reports were related. FYN is awaiting information from the Towns County Sheriff’s Office.
