David Robert Dunn: Obituary

David Robert Dunn, age 69, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2018. Mr. Dunn was born on August 12, 1948 in Toledo, Ohio to the late Robert Edward and Coletta Merle Dunn. He was a loving, caring, thoughtful, gentle, old soul who had a passion for music. One of his favorite songs was, “On The Road Again” by Willie Nelson, which was very appropriate because he was well traveled. He loved traveling in his motor home with his devoted wife Peggy as his Co-Pilot . He was extremely patriotic, passionate about gardening and an aviation enthusiast. He knew how to light up a room and put a smile on anyone’s face with his corny jokes.

He is survived by his loving wife Peggy Surls Dunn; his three sons and daughter-in-laws: Matthew and Anna Dunn of Greensboro, Georgia, W. Allen and Staci Surls of Buford, Georgia, and Mark and Amber Surls of Denver Colorado; six grandchildren: Addison, Tristan, Liam, Ava, Asher, and Sofia; two brothers and sister-in-laws: Charles and Sharon Dunn of Stone Mountain, Georgia, and Dan and Ida Dunn of Stockbridge, Georgia; and one sister, Sherry Burger of Griffin,Georgia; and a number of nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive guests from 1 to 2 PM Saturday, August 4th, 2018 in the chapel of Banister Funeral Home.

Services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, August 4th, 2018 in the chapel of Banister Funeral Home.

Reverend Richard Croker will be officiating.
