Young Harris Couple Arrested for Providing Alcohol to Minors

Towns County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence off Julie Hollow Road in Young Harris shortly after midnight on Friday, October 27, 2017, after receiving information as to a party involving underage drinking. Upon arrival, deputies located a large number of minors who had been consuming alcoholic beverages.

Deputies arrested two adults at the residence.

Rex Allen Cothren, 57, of Young Harris, and Mary Veronica Cothren, 42, of Young Harris, were charged with the following:

  • 1 Count of Maintaining a Disorderly House.
  • 1 Count of Furnishing Alcohol to Persons underage.

The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are likely.
