Mr. Homer Kimsey: Obituary

Homer Kimsey, age 90 of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away on September 6, 2017 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home. He was born to the late Buford Marvin Kimsey and Roxie (Youngblood) Kimsey on April 19, 1927 in Hiawassee, Georgia.

Homer was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church where he enjoyed teaching Sunday School and he was recently honored for having taught Sunday School for a total of 50 years. He was an avid outdoorsmen who loved to hunt, fish, raise beagle dogs and garden. He also took joy in playing his guitar. He was a dedicated husband and father.

He was preceded in death by brothers, Carl Kimsey and Harold Kimsey; and sister, Bessie Kimsey Arrowood.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ollie (Hunter) Kimsey of Hiawassee, Georgia. He is also survived by daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Mike King of Cleveland, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Reggie and Susan Kimsey of Hiawassee, Georgia; son, Andrew Kimsey of New York; grandchildren, Brandon King, Lauren Filback, Matthew Filback, Ashley and Shawn Owens; great grandchild Peyton Owens; brother, Steve Kimsey and sister Jessie Hyatt. A number of loving nieces, nephews, friends and family also survive.

Visitation: Thursday, September 7, 2017 5:00PM until 8:00PM at Macedonia Baptist Church
Funeral services: Friday, September 8, 2017 at 11:00AM at Macedonia Baptist Church
Interment: Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery

Pallbearers: Matthew Filbeck, Brandon King, Jimmy Kimsey, Klint Hunter, Jeff Hunter and Jeff Osborn
