Mr. Robert Dye: Obituary

Mr. Robert Dye age 78 of  Young Harris passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday August 1, 2017 following an extended illness. Mr. Dye was born on April 13, 1939 in Union County, the son of the late Gertrude Dye. He was a lifelong resident of Towns and Union Counties. Robert loved hunting and flea marketing. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. He was preceded in death by his son, Zyndall Dye in 1997 and a brother in law, Robert Brown. Mr. Dye was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mr. Dye are his loving wife, Genette Chastain Dye, two daughters and one son in law, Edwina and Barry Churchill, Lesa Dye all of Young Harris, one sister, Charlene Gilbert of Blairsville, two sisters in law and one brother in law, Geneva and James Lee, Annie Mae Brown, one brother in law and sister in law, Ernest and Sue Chastain all of Young Harris, four grandchildren, Zandra and Chris Churchill, Cordel and Samantha Dye, seven great grandchildren, Bryton, Breanna, Cason, Hunter, Brantley, Braxton and Brentlee, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday August 2, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Ronnie Abernathy officiating. Special music will be presented by Gladys and Cody Gibson. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Barry and Chris Churchill, Cordel Dye, Junior Chastain, Ed McClure and Jason Lee. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Ernest Chastain. Interment will follow in the Many Forks Baptist Church Cemetery where he will rest next to his son Zyndall. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family request that donations may be made to the Many Forks Cemetery Fund in Robert’s memory. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 11-2:00 pm. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
