Overnight Fire Destroys Hiawassee Home

Hiawassee, GA – Towns County 911 dispatched Fire and Rescue to 1383 Konahetah Drive in Hiawassee at approximately 11:28 pm on Monday night, July 24, in response to a fully involved structure fire.

The home was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on scene.

There were no human injuries although the family’s dog sadly perished. The home was completely destroyed, a “total loss.”

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
