Irene Wessman Hild died Saturday, May 20, 2017 peacefully at her home in Hiawassee, Georgia after a painful battle with a fractured vertebrae. She was born in Johnstown, PA to the late Ruth and John Wessman. Irene’s brother died in France in 1944 in WWII.
She is survived by her husband, William; son, Eric; son and fiance, David and Jenn along with her two daughters Alicia and Ashley.
As a Registered Medical Record Administrator, Irene held positions at Sunny Acres Sanatorium, Cleveland Clinic and Hillcrest Hospital where she was Utilization Coordinator and Director of Medical Records Department.
Irene was active in church, singing in the choir, the Hillcrest YMCA Board, and PTA’s. She was also a big supporter of programs for Developmentally Delayed persons. Her son Eric lives in a group home administered by Welcome House. Services were held in Hiawassee on Sunday, May 21, 2017. Reverend Bill Thompson officiated. Interment will be in Brookfield Cemetery in Massillion, OH. Memorial gifts may be made to Welcome House, 802 Sharon Drive, Westlake, OH 44125
