Mr. Wenford “Joe” Anderson: Obituary

Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces funeral services for Mr. Wenford “Joe” Anderson, age 84, of Hiawassee, who passed away on Friday, May 5, 2017 in North East Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia.

Mr. Anderson was born in Hayesville, North Carolina, a son of the late Henry Grady Anderson and the late Mattie Hogsed Anderson. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, attaining the rank of Corporal. He was a retired foreman. Besides his parents, Joe was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters.

Family members left to treasure their memory of their beloved husband, father, and grandfather are: loving wife of 63 years, Totsy Eller Anderson; daughters and sons-in-law: Susan and Tommy Hindsman, Mattie and Alden Hunter, Tina and Aaron Underwood, Judy and Jon Fullerton; and son and daughter-in-law, Jody and Brandy Anderson; sister, Sue Mullinex; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Anderson have been scheduled for Monday, May 8, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., to be held at Mt. Pleasant Church of God, with Rev. Glen Eller officiating. Burial will be in Boyd’s Chapel, with the following gentlemen selected to serve as pallbearers: Jason McCollum, Tyler McCollum, Nile Anderson, Jon Fullerton, Seth Fullerton, Mark Conner, Aaron Underwood, Tommy Hindsman, and, serving as honorary escort to the family will be Alden Hunter.

The visitation will be held on Sunday, at Mt. Pleasant Church of God, from 6:00 p.m., until 9:00 p.m.
