Mrs. Betty Jean Dayton: Obituary

Mrs. Betty Jean Dayton age 75 of Hiawassee passed away peacefully on May 4, 2017 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Dayton was born October 25, 1941 in Suches Georgia, the daughter of late Arlie Lincoln Grizzle and the late Dicie Payne. Betty had a strong faith in God and her family. She was a loving and caring mother, sister and grandmother. Mrs. Dayton a member of Lower Hightower Baptist Church.

Surviving Mrs. Dayton are her loving children, Morris and Christy Dayton, Mitchell and Libby Dayton, and Myron and Diana Dayton, all of the Hiawassee area. Her siblings Fred and Evelyn Grizzle of Alpharetta, Vernelle Nix of Blairsville, Harve and Betty Grizzle of Hiawassee, and Ronald and Helen Grizzle of Hiawassee, four grandchildren Adam, Alex, Anna, and Alyson Dayton, a host of her church family, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 6, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Lower Hightower Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Cantrell and Rev. Danny Burch officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Doug Grizzle, Brian Grizzle, David Dayton, Cameron Dayton, Brad McConnell, and Clay McConnell. Interment will follow in the Lower Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery. Flowers are accepted or if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the Lower Hightower Baptist Church Cemetery Fund in memory of Mrs. Dayton. The family will meet with friends at the church on Saturday from 11:00-2:00. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
