Mr. Eugene Stuman: Obituary

Mr. Eugene Stuman age 89 of Young Harris passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 26, 2017 following an extended illness. Mr. Stuman was born on August 20, 1927 in Young Harris, GA., the son of the late Manson Stuman and the late Cordelia Shook Stuman. He was a native and lifelong resident of Towns County. Eugene had worked in his younger years in the Maintenance Department at the Young Harris College. After retirement he sold at Decker’s Flea Market for the past thirty years. He enjoyed rabbit hunting and gardening. He was a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather. Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Louella Williamson Stuman in 2015, one brother, Lee Stuman and three sisters, Estelle Owensby, Clara Belle Keenan and Eller Syvereck. Mr. Stuman was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mr. Stuman are three daughters and two sons in law, Diane and Kenneth Davis, Judy Gibson, Cathy and Tony Shook, one son, Bobby Stuman all of Young Harris, sister in law, Wanda Williamson of South Carolina, brother in law, Phillip Williamson of Blairsville, four grandchildren, Cody and Samantha Gibson, Jenna and Brandon Anderson, Candice Shook and T.J. Shook, two step grandchildren, Autumn and Jeff graves, Darrell and Tiffany Davis, ten great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Friday April 28, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Many Forks Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Stiles officiating. Eugene will lie in state the church on Friday from 1-2;00PM. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Cody Gibson, T.J. Shook, Jesse Gibson, Chad Gibson, Brandon Anderson and Jordan Shook. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-9:00 pm.
