Mrs. Flar Belle “Flo” Harveston: Obituary

Funeral services for Mrs. Flar Belle “Flo” Harveston, 92, who entered into rest on April 9, 2017, will be conducted Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 2 o’clock at Platt’s Funeral Home, 721 Crawford Avenue in Augusta, Georgia. Pastor Danny Barton with Aldersgate Methodist Church will be officiating the memorial service. Internment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park following the memorial service.

Although Mrs. Harveston was a native of the Metter, Georgia, area, she called Augusta, Georgia, home for over 65 years. Flo was faithful to the Lord, and an active and loyal member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. Mrs. Harveston was a retired hairstylist.

She is survived by her daughter, Suzanne (Sam) H. Best and son-in-law G. Ronnie Best, of Hiawassee, Georgia; her grandson, R. Shane Best, and his wife, Karen; and two great grandchildren, Courtney and Tyler Best., of Carmel, Indiana. Mrs. Harveston is also survived by two brothers, Silas Pittman of Jacksonville, FL and Mike Coursey of North Augusta, SC; three sisters, Collene Price of North Augusta, SC, Dot Youngblood of Jacksonville, FL, and Bobbie Futch of Columbia, SC.

The family will receive family and friends at the funeral home this Saturday afternoon, April 15th, from 1 o’clock until the memorial service at 2 o’clock.
