Mr. Dan Lenard Scruggs: Obituary

Mr. Dan Lenard Scruggs, age 61, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017. Dan was born on February 21, 1955 in Griffin, Georgia to the late Lenard and Iowa (Hay) Scruggs. Dan was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was of the Baptist faith. Dan was preceded in death by brothers Don Scruggs, Charles Scruggs, Johnny Scruggs and Bobby Scruggs, and sister, Burtice Smith.

Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Vicki Carlyle Scruggs; children, Tanya and husband Sid Scarborough of San Angelo, TX, Samantha and husband John Carlisle of Tampa, FL, Tommy Pieser and wife Tammy of Miles, TX, Blake Nash and wife Courtney of Dahlonega GA, Stephanie Dudley of Lebanon, TN, Jodie Johnson of Buford, GA, Jodi Goodwin of Hiawassee, GA and Chris Johnson of Buford, GA; brothers, Sam Scruggs and wife Rhonda of Madison, GA, Luther Scruggs of Martin, GA, Killis Scruggs and wife Kay of Newnan, GA; sister, Patsy Smith and husband David of Martin, GA; grandchildren, Kristen Goodwin, Jolie Johnson, Zoe Carlisle, Colten Calhoun, Lynzi Kohutek, Carson Scarborough, Tori Pettit, Cameron Dudley, Britanie Chapman, Bethanie Hawks, Jack Dudley and Zeb Frady, a number of nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Visitation: Sunday, February 19, 2017 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Banister Funeral Home
Service: Monday, February 20, 2017 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Banister Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Eller officiating.
Interment: Pallbearers: Cameron Dudley, John Goodwin, Jamie Petit, Blake Nash, Shannon Sloop and Jimmy Smith
Honorary Pallbearers: Sam Scruggs, Austin Scruggs and Charles Butler
