Mr. James Thomas Faulkner, age 75 of Murphy, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at his home. Mr. Faulkner was born August 8, 1941 in McCormick, SC to the late James Thomas Faulkner and the late Pauline Cudd Faulkner. A member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Hiawassee, GA he was preceded in death by one daughter, Lynne Faulkner. James worked as a Railroad Conductor for CSX and served in the US Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, boating, working in his yard and planting and tending to his roses.

Survivors include loving wife, Theresa Barnhill Faulkner, children, Jimmy Faulkner, Joy Faulkner, Robert Barnhill, Donald Barnhill, Stanley Bradshaw and Bobby Faulkner, one brother, Jerry Faulkner, fifteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Cochran Funeral Home in Hiawassee, GA. with Rev. Elridge Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in Osborn Cemetery. Military Honors provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at the Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee, GA on Saturday, February 11, 2017, from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
