The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces Funeral Services for Mrs. Emma C. (McGaha) Parker, age 95 of Young Harris, Georgia who passed away on Monday, January 23, 2017 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home.
Emma was born July 21, 1921 in Young Harris, Georgia to the late Luther Edward McGaha and Ollie Elizabeth McGaha. She attended Woods Grove Baptist Church and had been a resident of Chatuge Regional Nursing Home for 11 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Plato Parker; daughter, Joan Sosebee; siblings, Beulah Bryson, Ruby Shook, Willie Bryson, Minnie Stanley, Eloise Burch, Hazel McNabb, Jay McGaha, Callie Albritian, Don McGaha, Jack McGaha, Lloyd McGaha, and Annie McGaha.
Survivors include: son & daughter-in-law, Dean (Rhonda) Parker of Eastover, SC; son, Jerry Parker of Hiawassee; son & daughter-in-law, Richard (Doris) Parker of Grifton, NC; daughter & son-in-law, Judy (Edward) Patterson of Hayesville, NC; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy (Jim) Hill of Newnan, GA.; son-in-law, Allan Sosebee of Young Harris, Ga.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 from the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee with Rev. Billy Nicholson officiating. Special music will be presented by the Pine Top Quartet. Interment will follow at Woods Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallberers serving are Eddie Sosebee, Patrick Sosebee, Terry Parker, Ritchie Parker, Ethan Barrett, Luke Barrett, and Jeremy Parker. The family will receive friends at Cochran Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral service begins.
