Mrs. Merle Janet Shook: Obituary

Mrs. Merle Janet Shook age 76 of Hiawassee passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday January 22, 2017 following an extended illness.

Mrs. Shook was born on Feb. 1, 1940 in Flint, MI., the daughter of the late Earl Clore and the late Ada Grace Hunt Clore. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by a son, Steve Campbell and an infant daughter Julie. Mrs. Shook was of the Protestant faith.

Surviving Mrs. Shook are her loving husband of forty eight years, Bill Shook of Hiawassee, two daughters and sons in law, Janice and Jay DeMeo of Santa Rosa, CA., Betty Ann and Frank VanSlyke of Silver Springs, FL., Her mother in law and close friend Marian (Mum) Shook of Quincy, FL., six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends also survive.

No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Regency Hospice of Hiawassee http://www.regencyhospice.com in Mrs. Shook’s memory. The family gives special thanks to Regency Hospice. Mountain View Funeral Home of Blairsville is in charge of the arrangements.
