Deputies Respond to 911 Hang Up Call

Towns County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence on Scataway Road in Hiawassee, Georgia, during the early morning hours on Friday, December 30, in reference to a 911 hang up call.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 79 year old male and a 61 year old female, later determined to be husband and wife, in a semi-conscious state. Both subjects were transported to Chatuge Regional Hospital in Hiawassee before being airlifted to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, Georgia, where they were admitted to the hospital in serious condition.

The case is being investigated by the Towns County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. The incident is believed to be domestic violence related. The investigation is active and ongoing.
