Mr. John Horkavy: Obituary

Mr. John Horkavy, age 70 of Hiawassee, passed away early Tuesday morning October 18, 2016 at his home. John was born September 9, 1946 in Wallingford, CT to the late John Horkavy and Jennie Morganti Horkavy. He was a member of Hiawassee United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Hope Lamade Horkavy, mother, Jennie Horkavy of Guilford, CT, daughter, Joy Hales of Lutz, FL, sons, Adam Horkavy of St. Petersburg, FL and Dean Horkavy of Oak Park, IL, Brothers, Robert Horkavy of Austin, TX and Carl Horkavy of Benson, NC, and sister, Jane Olsen of Guilford, CT, 4 Grandchildren and many other family members also survive.

Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Hiawassee United Methodist Church with the Rev. Sam Hamby officiating. Music will be provided by Roy Perren and Kim Perren. The family will receive friends at the church following the memorial service.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations may be made to either the Gideons International at your local church or funeral home, or to the Hiawassee United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1139 U.S. Hwy 76, Hiawassee, GA 30546.
