Mrs. Judith Lovan Haas Cloyd, age 74, of Leisure Woods Lane, Hiawassee, and formerly of Ft. Pierce, FL, passed away Saturday, August 13, 2016, at her home following a short illness. Judy was born on October 26, 1941, in Detroit, MI, the daughter of the late Raymond Haas and Loretta Clay Haas. Judy was a teacher, and retired after many years of service from the Lakewood Park United Methodist Church in Ft. Pierce, FL. Judy loved crafts, sewing, singing, and was an avid reader. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Judy was of the United Methodist faith and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Union County in Blairsville.
Surviving Mrs. Cloyd are her husband of 52 years, Michael D. Cloyd of Hiawassee; one son, David M. Cloyd and his wife Amy Sue Cloyd of Hiawassee; one daughter, Karen L. Cloyd and her fiancee Kevin L. Schmitt of Palm Bay, FL; one brother, Raymond Haas, Jr. of Tampa, FL; six grandchildren and three grand-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, August 19, 2016, at the First United Methodist Church in Blairsville at 2:00PM, with the Rev. Mark Burgess officiating. Visitation will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Blairsville on Friday August 19, 2016 between 1:00 – 2:00PM.
