Mrs. Carolyn Bryson Stephens age 69 of Many Forks Rd. Young Harris passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 10, 2016 at her home following an extended illness. Mrs. Stephens was born on May 1, 1947 in Blairsville, GA., the daughter of the late John Bryson and the late Geneva Shepherd Bryson. She was a lifelong resident of Union and Towns Counties. Carolyn loved gardening, reading and sewing. She was a loving mother and aunt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Stephens in 1990 and by her parents and also two brothers, Ward and Kenneth Bryson.
Mrs. Stephens was a member of Many Forks Baptist Church. Surviving Mrs. Stephens are one daughter, Denise Stephens of Young Harris, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.
A graveside service will be held on Friday August 12, 2016 at 4:00 pm from the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. R.L. Martin officiating. Special music will be presented by Gladys and Cody Gibson. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2:30-3:30 pm.
