Mr. Timothy Lee Mulkey: Obituary

Mr. Timothy Lee Mulkey age 57 of Young Harris passed away peacefully on Wednesday August 10, 2016 in the Union General Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Mulkey was born on Dec. 18, 1958 in Murphy, NC., the son of the late Walter Bunyon Mulkey and the late Minnie Virginia Shook Mulkey. He was a lifelong resident of Towns County and had owned and operated Mulkey’s Garage and Wrecker Service for over thirty seven years. He was a member of Stevens Masonic Lodge #414 F&AM and had served as Past Worshipful Master. Tim had served as a City Council Member of Young Harris for several years. He was an avid sports car racing fan and enjoyed automobile restorations in his spare time. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. Tim was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.

Surviving Tim are his loving wife and best friend of thirty eight years, Jennifer Cable Mulkey of Young Harris, three sons and two daughters in law, Nick and Sunny Mulkey of Kennesaw, Joshua Mulkey of Young Harris, Casey and April Mulkey of Young Harris, two brothers, Jim Mulkey of Young Harris, Steve Mulkey of Warne, one sister, Judy Henderson of Warne, three grandchildren, Taylor, Madilynn and Jonah, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Friday August 12, 2016 at 2:00pm at Old Union Baptist Church Cemetery with David Rogers, Rev. Ronnie Shook and Herman Ford officiating. Tim will lay in state at the church from 1-2:00pm on Friday. Special music will be presented by Tony and Lacie Ford. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, David Rogers, Ronnie Shook, Marty Roberts, Roger Giles, Rob Compton, Tony Henderson, Marty Johnson and Gary Shook. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6-9:00pm.
