Mr. Rex Burrell: Obituary

Mr. Rex Burrell, age 60, of Hiawassee, GA passed away on June 26, 2016 following a brief illness. Mr. Burrell was born in Hiawassee, Georgia on February 27, 1956 to the late Robert and Cindy (Arrowood) Burrell. He was preceded in death by his brother, Ricky Burrell.

Survivors include his wife; Peggy Burrell, daughters and sons-in-law, Autumne and Curt Ledford of Young Harris, GA and Ashley and Shawn Owens of Brasstown, NC, step-daughters and sons-in law; Jessica and Jason Young of Young Harris, GA, Tiffany and Jon Cook of Blairsville, GA and Brittney and Matthew Allen of Young Harris, GA, mother-in-law; Betty Hogan, brothers; Artis Owenby of Batesville, GA, Arvil Owenby of Cleveland, GA and Oscar Owenby of Clarksville, GA, sisters; Sheila Matheson of Hiawassee, GA and Angelo Addis of Clarksville, GA, grandchildren who loved him dearly, Jocelyn, Luke, Kristen, Jayce, Jacob, Jenna, Peyton, Hadleigh and Mahayla, a number of nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Services were held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at 2:00 at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Jarrard and Rev. Shannon Burrell officiating. Music was provided by Rebecca Seabolt.

The family received friends on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 from 6:00 – 9:00 PM. Interment followed at the Pine Grove Baptist Church cemetery. Pallbearers were Devin Burrell, Dylan Burrell, Pat Sosebee, Travis Bryson, Lonnie McCray, Fred Nelms and Jordan Hicks. Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee, GA in charge of arrangements.
