Mr. Gerald Henderson: Obituary

Mr. Gerald Henderson age 64 of Jack Creek Rd. Hiawassee passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday June 23, 2016 following an extended illness. Mr. Henderson was born on March 4, 1952 in Murphy, NC., the son of Louise Anderson Henderson and the late Don Henderson. He was a lifelong resident of Towns County. Gerald loved hunting and fishing. He was a loving father, brother, grandfather and great grandfather. Gerald was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving Mr. Henderson are one son and daughter in law, Kevin and Alisha Henderson of Blairsville, two step daughters, Sharon and Gerald Silvey of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA., Michelle and Wayne Rogers of Mineral Bluff, two brothers, E.J. Henderson of Hayesville, Bass Henderson of Robinsville, NC., one sister and brother in law, Susie and Terry Eller of Hiawassee, eight grandchildren, Braydon and Gracie Henderson, Shanda and Casey Cain, Jenny Rogers, Dustin and Eric Henderson and Cody Silvey, two great grandchildren, Angyll Henderson and Pasiley Silvey, many other relatives and friends also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday June 25, 2016 at 4:00 pm from the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Raymond Byers officiating. Special music will be presented by Brondy Carpenter. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, John Henderson, William Carpenter, Greg Shook, Junior Chastain, Casey Cain and Dustin Henderson. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Braydon and Gracie Henderson. Interment will follow in the Henderson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers if you wish, donations may be made to help defray expenses.
