The Cochran Funeral Home of Hiawassee announces graveside services for Mr. John Richard Hudson who passed away on March 7, 2016.
Mr. Hudson was born and raised in Tampa, Florida moving to Young Harris, Georgia in 1996. He was very devoted to his family. Mr. Hudson retired from a career with the United States Air Force which included a tour in Vietnam and assignments in numerous other places. His hobbies were to fly model airplanes and collect model trains.
Survivors include: daughter & son-in-law, Linda & Frank Baker of Highland Village, Texas; step-sons, Jimmie R. Barco of Young Harris, and Roy Barco and his wife Sandy, of Plant City, Florida ; brother & sister-in-law, Robert E. & Renate Hudson, Sr. of Lutz, Florida; sister, Norma J. Barco of Young Harris; grandson, Gregory (Paula) Baker of London, England; granddaughter, Stephanie (Guy) Stilwell of Flower Mound Texas; step-granddaughter, Sherrie (Wayne) Register of Plant City, Florida; 5 great grandchildren; 2 nephews, and 1 niece. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jessie M. Hudson; grandson, Stephen Baker; and niece, Donna Evans.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at Laurel Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 6 until 9 p.m.
