Floyd Head: Obituary

Mr. Floyd Head, age 88, of Cleveland passed away Wednesday August 26, 2015 at Northeast Ga Medical Center.

Mr. Head was born in White County the son of the late Doctor Giles and Carrie Lee Dorsey Head. He was preceded in death by an infant grandson, brothers, D.G. Head, John T. Head, sisters, Ruth Head, Mae Mauney, Edith Holcomb, Louise Purcell, Henrietta Gilmore and Sue Swanson. Mr. Head was retired from the U.S. Postal Service and a Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in World War 11. He was a member of Mossy Creek United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara Sosebee Head, Cleveland; sons and daughters-in-law, Allen D. and Susan D. Head, Gainesville, Doug and Kay Head, Cleveland; grandchildren, Dea and Scott McFarland, Kealy and Ryan Burel, Brian Head; great grandchildren, Kaleigh McFarland, Matthew McFarland, Michael Burel, Taylor Burel; brother, Dean Head, Cleveland; sister-in-law, Louise Head, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Friday August 28, 2015 at the Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Landen will officiate. Interment will be at Gateway Memory Park.

`The family will receive friends 2-4 & 6-8 pm Thursday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to Mossy Creek United Methodist Church, 2154 Post Rd. Cleveland, GA 30528.
